Emily & Jon | Garden Wedding Kent
Emily and Jons Garden wedding was held at Emilys parents garden, nestled in the quaint Kent countryside. Now Summer weddings are always great but when they are located in rural Kent, on one of the hottest days of the year they are even better!
Getting ready in the house whilst their guests milled around outside under the shade of the trees, Emily and Jon opted (sensibly considering the weather) to get married outside under the protection of the Pagoda.
With their friends, family and their Dog, terrier Hetti, watching the ceremony it wasn’t long before the newlywed couple were walking down the aisle as husband and wife. Pre made cocktails in hand and after some chilled time with their guests, we wandered into the surrounding countryside for some portraits on the deserted country lanes and fields. The sun shafts through the trees only added to the beautiful surroundings and made for some ace shots of the couple.
With portraits in the bag, Emily and Jon joined in their guests and tucked into food from Ottolenghi, and had a good laugh when the speeches inevitably crept around. The setting of their wedding breakfast was a light filled marquee, opting for transparent glass and loads of foliage it really felt like the outdoors had crept in, It almost felt like a French destination wedding.
After a few home-brews and cocktails the Ceilidh kicked off the afternoon festivities, which saw all the guests and the bride and groom giving it a good go and setting the tone for the rest of the evening. As the evening passed guests chose to either dance the night away on the dancefloor or escape for some cool air, enjoy the stars and relax in the leafy garden under the fairy lights.
It was a pleasure to shoot Emily and Jons Garden wedding and an honour to be treated like a guest on their big day. The intimate setting and the story behind the location only made it lovelier to shoot, and the British weather pulled it out of the bag for once!
