My photojournalistic way of working is to let you enjoy your day, celebrate with your friends and family, laugh, joke and let me capture everything as it happens. That way the photos you receive will be true to your memories of the day. The relaxed approach, documenting the day as it happens naturally. My aim is to tell the story of your day as it happens without posing and faking shots. I’ll shoot the main moments and the smaller details that have been made and planned, while keeping my eyes out for the unexpected surprises that happen during the day, recording your style and producing memories that can be enjoyed for years to come.
We’ll make sure there’s some time during the day to create some cool and fun portraits of you both. Don’t like having your picture taken? Don’t worry it’s a lot easier than you think, we’ll have a laugh, chat and and get some creative and relaxed portraits. Don’t worry I won’t be asking the groomsmen to lift the bride or pretend to run away from photoshop dinosaurs, just natural relaxed photos.
I love shooting at new venues as well as the ones I’ve worked at before, making sure the day and what is happening is reflected in the pictures to create something special to you as a couple. Where possible I prefer to shoot using natural light, but I am confident using discreet flash photography when needed. Normally for the odd night-time portrait and a bit of dance floor action.
SO A BIT MORE ABOUT ME…
- I got married in a swimming pool to my wife Rebecca in 2014 at Victoria Baths, Manchester.
- We own the grumpiest cat I’ve ever met – Ted
- I’m a massive beer geek (and shoot a lot of craft beer photography)
- I love to travel
- I am a big vinyl collector
- Massive Mid Century furniture and design fan
- I got my head shaved on the Beat the Barber (Ant & Dec’s first show) when I was younger!!!
I started my photography career shooting bands for local magazines and websites, hanging out in Leeds and Manchester in small sweaty clubs as well as larger venues. Even managing to shoot loads of my favourite artists. For me being a photographer is a dream job, documenting and capturing events as they happen, meeting new people and telling their stories.
Although I’m currently based in Leeds, I’ve worked all over the North and Midlands including, York, Manchester, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield, as well as further afield. I’ve covered weddings in Greece and i’m happy to travel anywhere in the UK and internationally.
